How to know best time to conceive
Question
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for five months now. I bought the clear plan monitor, and this is our second month using it. I am a little confused as to when we should be having intercourse and how long sperm live. We had intercourse on day 8, 11, we then had the LH surge on day 13 (6am) then had intercourse day 13 in the evening(9pm). Did we do the right thing, or should I have waited until day 14? I am so confused at this point, and very discouraged.

I understand your frustration. My suggestion is that you contact a professional who can instruct you in the specifics of your fertility, and help you determine the best time to conceive. If you are in California, there is a list on our website of professionals throughout California who can assist you and address your individual situation, taking into consideration the 3-5 day sperm survival rate, 12-24 hour life span of the egg, and the quality and quantity of your own cervical mucus production.
