An era is coming to an end, with the retirement of Lynn Keenan,MD from the Executive Board of CANFP.
Dr. Keenan joined the board in 2004, assuming leadership as President in 2010. CANFP grew under her direction, offering seminarian and clergy programs, and several statewide conferences, culminating with the 2018 national HV50 celebration. In addition to guiding CANFP, she also established and served on the faculty of the annual California education program training FertilityCare Practitioners, traveled throughout the state speaking on the harms of contraception and benefits/scientific foundation of NFP, and served her own Fresno region with clinical services providing NaProTechnology—all while fulfilling her professional responsibilities as Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF/Fresno, Board Certified in Sleep and Internal Medicine, and her personal vocation as mother of four. Her purposeful but patient leadership, compassion, and vast knowledge and experience, not only of the science and medicine, but the ethical/spiritual dimensions as well, will be greatly missed by her colleagues on the CANFP Board. Fortunately, she has graciously agreed to continue to serve CANFP in a consultative role, on the Advisory Board of CANFP, speaking, supporting, and mentoring. Dr. Keenan is a great blessing to the NFP community of California, and a treasured friend of all who have worked with her.
