Can the pill help me conceive?

Hello,
My husband and I have 2 beautiful children and have tried for 2 years for another. We have had 3 miscarriages and now just can’t get pregnant. I was on 50mg of Clomid for 6 months and nothing. My periods are anywhere from 30-33 days each month. We were wondering if maybe putting me on the pill would regulate my period and help me to conceive.

Short answer — No!
For one thing, your cycles ARE regular, if they are only varying by a couple days from month to month.
For another, oral contraceptives would be contraindicated with your intention to conceive. Commonly, it is recommended to a woman coming off the pill to wait three to six months before trying to conceive. This is in part due to some studies which indicate a higher miscarriage rate coming off the pill. There is no benefit or medical reason to be taking the pill in your situation.
From what little information you have shared, it sounds like you have not been evaluated to find out why you are having difficulty achieving pregnancy, and then carrying to term. I recommend you consult a Natural Family Planning teacher to learn how to chart the details of your cycle. This information will not only assist you in identifying your fertile time and timing intercourse to achieve a pregnancy, but also be an invaluable tool to assist you and your physician in pursuing a reason for your history of miscarriage.
