Evaluating Progesterone Levels
Question
What is a normal progesterone level during your menstrual flow time? Is it normally lower at that time of the month?
I had a blood test done & doctor said that my progesterone was low. I just thought that was normal since I am not pregnant. Maybe it should be high when I am trying to conceive!?!?!?! (this is my third cycle of TTC).

Progesterone is normally low in the early part of your cycle and high in the latter part of your cycle, known as the luteal phase, which occurs after ovulation. Its presence is manifested by a rise in your basal body temperature. If you have any concerns about its effect on your ability to conceive, it would be best to ask your doctor what he/she means by “low” (relative to what reference value).
