I had a partial molar pregnancy and had a D&C a month ago. We have been careful but our protection broke. Just to be safe, I took an ovulation test and it came up positive. I am nervous now that I am pregnant. My levels still have not dropped to zero (99-last week) but I am feeling symptoms of pregnancy (sick and sore in the breasts). Â What type of advice do you tell woman in this situation? Â Is it a wait and see? Thanks for your help.

Following Molar Pregnancy
Question
Answer
Last Updated: August 27, 2023
Women with partial molar pregnancies have elevated Beta-HCG levels. These levels take an average of 59 days to return to normal after resolution of the molar pregnancy. Checking a home pregnancy test would show positive results because of these elevated Beta-HCG levels, so it does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. You should however consult your physician regarding your concerns. While you are considering your reproductive health during this time in your life, you might want to consider learning more about the scientifically advanced, newer forms of natural family planning that can help you understand your body more, and will give you the information to know when you are fertile and when you are not. It has many added health benefits that come from knowing your body better and tracking your reproductive health.
