If I Missed a Shot Could I Get Pregnant?

Answer

Yes, if you do not receive your next injection when due, your own body will begin the process of returning to normal function. How long that takes can vary greatly, with some women returning to fertility quickly, and others taking a very long time for fertility to return to normal. It would seem a total mystery as to when fertility returns, except that we have signs in our body which we can observe which will tell us on any given day if we are fertile or infertile. You can contact one of the Professionals in our online directory at canfp.org to learn how to unravel the mystery, and use the information to achieve a pregnancy, or avoid one, depending on your intentions.
