How do you know when you ovulate?
Question

Last Updated: July 24, 2013
Hello Irais,
Each menstrual cycle a number of eggs are maturing in the ovaries under the influence of the hormone estrogen. At the same time the cervical crypts in the uterus are producing cervical mucus. It is this mucus that enables the sperms to live long enough in the female body to fertilize the egg or ovum when it is release from the ovary. Any women using natural family planning can identify the signs that indicate ovulation each cycle. If you are interested in knowing more about your fertility, I would suggest looking for an instructor in NFP located near you and taking a class for more detailed information.
