Changes in My Period

Question

I achieved a pregnancy quite easily but sadly had a miscarriage at 7 weeks 5 days. I have since been trying to conceive for over a year with no success and have been using the Billings Method and ovulation kits to know the best times for conception. I have premenstrual spotting for a day or two before my periods are due and also my periods only now last two days whereas before my miscarriage they lasted three, four, or five days. Also there has been a tiny bit of brown bleeding/tissue at the end of my last period. Now they are medium light with tiny, lumps of dark red blood. My hormones were checked six months ago on two dates and everything seemed to be fine.
I thought of trying Napro as I live in Scotland but my doctor thinks that the tests they do are probably the same. I have no children and am 40 in seven months time. Also my doctor wants to give me another smear because of the premenstrual bleeding.

Should I go privately to get tests and a laparoscopy done on the NHS? Please, please help as I am extremely anxious.

Thank you, Amy

Dear Amy,

Thank you for your question. Sorry to hear you had a miscarriage, and that your that your periods have changed, and you are experiencing the brown bleeding before and at the end of you menses.

I would recommend a complete check up. If you have access to the NaProTechnology protocol it would be very helpful as the tests are done at the correct time in your cycle, and the treatment is done cooperatively with your cycles. You can contact the MD’s in England at www.fertilitycare.co.uk

Wishing you and your husband the best. Please contact us if you need any further information.
