Elusive Menses
Question
I have missed my last two periods, and I may be getting close to missing yet another one. I took two at home urine tests which came up negative. I then went to the gyno and she suggested I take a blood test which came up negative as well. She then put me on medroxyprogesterone for 10 days to jump start my period and I am done with the medication and there is still no sign of my period. I thought blood tests were 100% accurate, could it have been wrong?Jackie

Hello Jackie,
Both urine and blood pregnancy tests are very reliable and accurate.
You are not pregnant. Give at least 7-10 days after ten days of medroxyprogesterone for your menstrual period to start. If after those days your have not menstruated I would recommend you to follow-up again with your gynecologist. You might need hormonal studies.
