I am 48 and have always had very bad periods, severe cramping etc. I just started my period today, light flow. Is there any way to stop your period in two days time?

Severe Cramping with Period

This could be dysmenorrhea- defined as difficult and painful menstruation.
Primary dysmenorrhea – is associated with excess or increased sensitiveness to prostaglandin.
Secondary dysmenorrhea- is caused by anatomic factor or pelvic pathology such as polyps, endometriosis myomas, cancer.
This needs to be investigated by a gynecologist. The primary dysmenorrhea can be treated with medication called prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors— examples: motrin, indocin, naproxen, and pontel. Other measures such as exercise, biofeedback, and acupuncture are also helpful.
Menstrual period can be stopped by oral contraceptive but not abruptly. The medication needs to be taken one or more months prior to the menstrual period. I do not recommend taking contraception due to the many harmful side effects and the moral issue that goes with it.
