Unusual Period

I usually have a normal period, but this month I only bled three days. Now I have a brown discharge when I wipe. What can this mean or be?

Dear Laura,
A brown discharge after your menstrual bleed could be related to low levels of progesterone in the cycle before. If this happens again you should consult with a physian. Many advances have come about in treating low progesterone levels in women today. Progesterone is an important hormone in fertility and in sustaining a pregnancy.
