I had my first pregnancy terminated at week six, one year ago. After that my cycle was irregular and always late by ten days on the average. And my second pregnancy was a miscarriage at week four to six. It was an inevitable and complete miscarriage. It felt like my normal period, it had started with normal bleeding and normal period pain. My hormone level was low. Was it because of termination? Can it happen again? And what are the chances of having low hormone level in next pregnancy? Do I need to see an expert? Did the termination harm my body in any way?Thank you very much.

Miscarriage following abortion

Regarding low hormone levels, (I am assuming progesterone), it can be a result of the termination. In order to plan for your future pregnancies, I would recommend charting using NaPro tracking and seeing a medical consultant. A hormonal profile can then be drawn to assess any deficiencies in hormone levels and appropriate planning can be made for future pregnancies. Regarding if the termination harmed your body, it would be more in the lines of psychological effects. As with any abortion, whether induced or spontaneous (i.e. miscarriage), it can be traumatic, however an induced abortion can have more psychological effects on a woman/couple. I would recommend receiving appropriate counseling with groups such as Project Rachel. God Bless.
