Hi. I have been trying to conceive for almost two years. My doctor wants to put me on fertility pills after I get a period. I haven’t had a period since April 9 and it won’t start, even after taking Prometrium in May.
I am very, very anxious about getting pregnant soon so, I ordered Fertilizer Hers (to help with conception). Have you heard of these pills? If so, do you think they will help me? Any suggestions on conceiving?

To answer if fertility medication would help you, one needs to know more about your medical history(age, previous pregnancies, gycecologic surgeries or conditions such as PID or endometriosis). Then a thorough medical workup of you and your partner is necessary – a complete hormone workup, a test to see if your fallopian tubes are open, a semenalysis for your partner. We find NFP charting very helpful in the timing of the hormone workup, as well as providing good information aboput cycle length, cervical mucus, and hormonal status. Once these tests are completed, one can know better if medication would help you.
Fertilizer is a vitamin-herbal supplement. I am not familiar with the company, so cannot vouch for the purity and doses of the ingredients. The FDA does not regulate vitamin-herbal supplements. I could not find on the web site the exact doses and composition of the ingredients. I am not sure it would be helpful in your case. One supplement frequently recommended for raising progesterone levels is Optivite, especially in conjunction with an omega-3 omega-6 supplement such as flax oil, but I am not sure if it would be helpful in your individual situation without knowing more about you.
