Hoping for pregnancy while on pill
Question
I have a relative that became pregnant while taking birth control pills faithfully. My question is how likely is that to happen? I am on birth control to help with polycystic ovaries and would like to get pregnant again. I have missed a few pills accidentally. Would it be likely for me to get pregnant considering the complications polycystic ovaries cause with infertility ???

According to the literature, birth control pills are 99% effective. Considering the risk factors and mechanism of action, I don’t recommend them. In your case, if you are trying to get pregnant, being on the pill is not the best route. Please note that birth control pills are contraindicated in pregnancy. In order to manage your polycystic ovaries, I would recommend charting using the Creighton Model and then being referred to a medical consultant. God Bless.
