Recovering from Miscarriage
Question
I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks. I had a D&C. My first cycle started 45 days after the D&C and was extremely light and barely lasted 2 days. I am now on day 39 since my first cycle started with no sign of menstruation. I have one child and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome six months before my successful pregnancy. My question to you is, what can I do to get my cycles going again? And is it because of progesterone deficiency or even cervical scarring that I have not menstruated again?

I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Some questions I would have for you include the possibility of being pregnant again. It is also possible that your periods might be infrequent secondary to the polycystic ovarian syndrome. Also to determine if progesterone might be playing a role, I would recommend a hormonal evaluation, though I doubt progesterone deficiency or cervical scarring would cause a lack of menstruation. As stated above, the first step would include assessing for pregnancy. I hope this helps. God Bless.
