What does the Catholic Church teach about the meaning of love and life? What does it mean to be Faithful to God’s Design? What can we learn by revisiting the teachings articulated in Humanae Vitae, arguably the most controversial encyclical in the history of the Catholic Church, with the hindsight and experience of these last 50 years, that can inspire and inform us now? Over forty experts explore the meaning of sex, examine the effects of contraception / abortion / sterilization, review the development of methods of natural family planning, and link the concepts of the theology of the body — “Since man cannot find true happiness for which he yearns with his whole being, unless he respects the laws inscribed in his nature by God.” Pope Paul VI, Humanae Vitae.
