I just got married and almost every time that I have sex with my husband I bleed, sometimes clots. I was a virgin, maybe that has something to do with it? Also, when my husband comes in me, I don’t know why but my body rejects it (it all comes out, nothing stays in). Should I worry? Should I visit my GYN?

Bleeding during intercourse

Congratulations on your recent marriage–and I commend you for the integrity and good moral judgment you and your husband exhibited by maintaining your virginity as a special gift to each other on your wedding night. This decision increases the chances that you will have a long, healthy, happy marriage in the years to come.
There can be some bleeding associated with intercourse when a woman first becomes sexually active. This will usually be associated with pain, also. After you and your husband have engaged in a number of acts of intercourse over the course of a few days or weeks, the bleeding and discomfort should go away. If the bleeding continues, or appears to get worse, then you should be seen by your gynecologist or family physician for a pelvic examination. If the bleeding is not accompanied by pain, or if the bleeding is very heavy, then I would be more suspicious right from the start. In this case, I would recommend an examination sooner.
I know it seems as though all of your husband’s semen is draining back out of you. This is very common. There is actually a very small volume of semen that remain inside of you and proceeds through your uterus and fallopian tubes to possibly cause a pregnancy by uniting with your egg. The vast majority of the fluid that your husband ejaculates will come back out of you. Don’t worry! You are not rejecting you husband’s sperm.
