I just found out I’m pregnant and I am really stressing right now. The first day of my last peroid was July, 6. I had sex on the 15 with an ex boyfriend. Then had sex with my boyfriend on the 16,18,19,20,21,22,and the 23rd. So wouldn’t I have conceived on the 20th? Please someone help me, I’m so sick and ashamed. “C”

Who is the Father?
Question
Answer

I do not think you will be able to determine the date of conception, from the dates you provided. Anything is possible.
Regardless of who the baby’s father is, you know one thing—YOU are the baby’s mother. And nothing will ever change that. We all make mistakes. The worst mistakes are the ones we compound when, out of shame or desperation, we try and hide our mistakes. I encourage you to get support for this pregnancy, so that you can give the gift of life to your child. With support, you can determine how best to discuss this with your boyfriend, and whether it would be best for you to raise this child, or to give it to a loving family in adoption. I suggest you discuss with your parents or other mature, reliable support system, who will have your baby’s best interests at heart. A helpful resource is the toll free number 1-800-395-HELP.
We all have times in our lives when we are asked to do the hard thing. Sometimes they are circumstances beyond our control, other times results of choices we make. Regardless, they are opportunities to grow in our ability to do the right thing. You are facing a hard time, but you may very well look back on this as a turning point in your life, a time you can be proud of yourself for rising to the challenge. I wish you strength, and support on the journey.
