Our path to NaPro was long and winding. We experienced two heartbreaking miscarriages in the early years of our marriage followed by seven years of infertility. Discouragement had definitely set in when dear friends referred us to Dr. Amie Holmes. She performed laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and ovarian cysts, then helped us with the medications, supplements, and diet changes that my body needed. Three months later we found out that we were pregnant! We will forever be thankful for God leading us to Dr. Holmes and NaProTechnology which brought us our miracle baby!

Like NFP Because I Am Selfish
You can’t tell that I’m selfish, right? (I hope you can’t!) Fortunately, God could tell that I was selfish, so he gave me NFP. And I am glad he did, because I would be even more selfish if I didn’t have NFP! (I don’t think that #NFPisfortheSelfish will take off...

NFP Worked in Our Marriage In Ways We Did Not Anticipate
When my husband and I first got married we had no idea of the richness of grace our marriage would provide for us as a couple. Being Catholics we had an understanding that contraception wasn’t the way to go in terms of planning our family and that a moral alternative...
A “Natural” Fit in a Pregnancy Resource Center
Having been raised as an Evangelical Christian, I was never exposed to the concept of Natural Family Planning. It wasn’t until I became the Director of a Pregnancy Resource Center (Silent Voices) in 1984 that I started to hear about NFP and the dangers of birth control. I was horrified...
One Guy’s Challenges
My wife Cassandra and I were married May, 1, 1993. From the beginning of our marriage we wanted to understand and practice natural family planning as the means by which we could live out our vows to each other as well as the Catholic Church’s teachings on the beauty and...
A Journey Worth Taking
Our Natural Family Planning journey has not always been an easy one, but I am able to stand here today and say that it was all worth it. In hindsight, I have always had a fairly accurate handle on my own cycles, but I didn’t get super serious about it...
Reflecting on Two Decades of CANFP Membership
Attending the HV50 Conference in July 2018 has given me occasion to reflect on my 22 years as a member of CANFP and what it has meant to me. Not only was I strengthened and enriched at the HV50 Conference but I was also able to visit with old friends...
