I just had a miscarriage a month or two ago. Is it possible that I am pregnant again and that I will have a healthy pregnancy? My OB said that she wanted to check my progesterone level when I missed my period again. Can I still have a healthy pregnancy if my porgestrone level is high or low?
Thank you!!

Can I Have a Healthy Pregnancy?

Vanessa,
I’m so sorry to hear you miscarried. To answer your question, there is a possibility that pregnancy may occur soon after the miscarriage because your body may have ovulated soon afterwards. I would recommend a pregnancy test as soon as possible. If the test indicates positive I would recommend you have lab work done so that the levels of HCG and Progesterone are evaluated. The sooner one knows if progesterone is low the quicker one can obtain the implementation of Natural Progesterone. Natural Progesterone is prescribed in a compound form and has been known to be absorbed better by the body. In return the woman would have a better chance at delivering a full term baby. If you are not pregnant, I would recommend you consult with an NFP professional to learn how to chart your cycles. This information will permit you to consult a physician to have your progesterone evaluated, and treated if necessary, before you conceive. I would highly recommend that you speak to your Doctor. For further guidance you can consult one of the physicians listed on the CANFP online directory, or if you are out of California, you can call CANFP at 1-877-33-CANFP for referral to a NaProTechnology Physician in your area.
