Unusual Bleeding, Am I Pregnant?

Question

Hi,
I had my chums on 12th July. I usually have a 30 day cycles so according to my ovulation dates we tried from 21st to 28th without any gaps. I observed myself ovulating on 25th and that’s also when we tried. On 30th July we had tried again and in the morning and at 12’o clock I had a bit of spotting, brown in color, which I found to be red when I wiped with tissue. This spotting and occasional bleeding has continued ever since. Today the bleeding was relatively heavy. I mean heavy enough that I used a pad. Before today it wasn’t enough to use a pad. I am wondering if it may be implantation bleeding. Or have I gotten my period really early? I was supposed to have it on 12th of August and I am mostly on time without any irregularities. I am 25 years old, married for 1 year and eight months. This past May, I had an ectopic pregnancy and my right tube got removed. Do you think I may be pregnant? Just explain what ever it may be. Thanks a lot in advance. Looking forward to your reply impatiently.

Regards

Dear Friend,

In regard to your possible pregnancy, according to your information about your cycle that began on July 12, yes, you might be pregnant since you had intercourse on and around the time of ovulation (your calculation).

Spotting can occur 3 – 10 days after conception, as you had. However, spotting preceding to heavier bleeding may have been your menstruation.

Also it is always possible to have a fertile cycle 20 to 21 days long, or even a short post-ovulatory phase in a cycle resulting in an early menstruation. (Ovulation occurs approximately 2 weeks before menstruation.)

About 30% of ectopic pregnancies will resolve naturally but this depends on early diagnosis. Since you’ve had 1 ectopic pregnancy already it’s very possible you may have another and could lose the other fallopian tube.

I suggest that you go in to see you doctor immediately.

All the above information you too can learn from taking a Natural Family Planning class. Check on this website for any NFP program near you and take good care of your fertility.
