Will pill stop bleeding from Depo?

I got the depo-provera shot in January, I should have renewed it in April but I didn’t get another shot. This is because since getting the shot I have not stopped bleeding since March. Sometimes it is like a period and other times it is just spotting. If I go on the pill would this stop the bleeding, and get me regular? I have a (gyn) appt. and I’m wondering if this is something I should ask. I DO NOT want to ever get this shot again. Can you please give me some advice to this question. Thank YouLeah

Bleeding/spotting is one of the side effects of Depo-Provera and taking the contraceptive pill could stop the bleeding and artificially regulate your menstrual cycles. However you may find that you won’t like the side effects of the pill either. Have you ever considered using natural family planning?
